The Chicken Guy!

by Marlon Fernandes

While in Disney Springs a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to try a few different eateries and one place that we were especially interested in was celebrity chef Guy Fieri’s restaurant The Chicken Guy!

They had a few different poultry options including tenders, sandwiches and salads and a number of sides, but what stood out the most on their menu was the number of sauces they had available; I think I counted 22! While they had some standards like Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan, they did have many sauces that you don’t see on your standard menu like Wasabi Honey, Sweet Sriracha BBQ and Avocado Crema.

We decided to share a five piece crispy friend tender (you can also get grilled all-natural as well) which came with 2 sauces with additional sauces costing you $.50 each. So we tried Avocado Crema and Garlic Parmesan. I also tried the American Slaw as an additional side.

The outdoor and indoor seating area was clean, the line moved quickly, and our food was brought to the table in about 5 minutes. The tenders were heavy on the batter but delicious and crunchy and the fries were seasoned well. The American Slaw was crunchy, creamy and tangy.

I was a little disappointed with the sauces we chose. I thought the Avocado Crema was watery and light on flavor, although Monica really liked it and called it “flavorful and refreshing”. The Garlic Parmesan was a little better but heavy on the parmesan and light on the garlic. Looking forward to trying some different sauces next time we go like the Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ, Wasabi Honey and Curry Mayo.

Overall, we were happy we tried this quick service restaurant. With so many other options to choose from at Disney Springs, we might not rush back, but we’ll try again some time, especially to try all the other sauces! Definitely a great dining option for families with picky eaters because they can have their chicken plain, but with all the sauces, there’s adventure aplenty for everyone else.
